Vroom Vrooom

4 Jun

DH got his first bike a couple of weeks ago – although he has yet to get his license… (he’s working on it, and being a driving instructor, he’s got lots of colleagues to help him). He got me to take a few photos and I thought it was a great opportunity to make a layout about him, that does not have his photo 😉 In retrospect, perhaps I should have gone with the colored photo? Or b/w but have the bike in colors? Either way, got to use May’s Studio Calico kits, and made this for Skissedilla (from which I have been absent during the last few weeks due to exams and life in general).

I cut the background paper to  lettersize, but quickly regretted it because it became too stuffy. Didn’t really know how to make it 12×12 again – didn’t want to glue it onto a piece of cardstock, etc, so I got my Tim Holtz stapler out and stapled it back together again. Seems to be the best solution as it creates an edgy and rough look. Also very pleased with the blotches from the Maya Mist.

Utrolig lekker LO! Kombinasjonen av hvitt, turkis og rødt er virkelig kul. Og stiftingen gjorde jo bare siden enda kulere! 🙂

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! Lizzie did a video tutorial on the american crafts blog and she explains it way better then i ever could! i also added some lace around the flower, ruffling it around the circle, sticking it down in intervals. hope that helps!
